Ok, so the C5 Corvette Z06 had Titanium valves and a hydroformed frame. The C6 Z had magnesium crossmembers and an aluminium frame...who sees parallels here? My 2004 CTS-V is LS6 powered and the black beast feels like an SR-71 on the highway. Thoughts on GM Performance Division?

The c6z also has titanium valves. But most owners would rather not talk about them...

The c5z had a titanium exhaust system that saved a lot of weight. The c6z just got a boring SS exhaust system.

I think they are sacrificing too much reliability for the quest for more power currently. I think they need to cool it down a bit. Apparently, at least according to The Smoking Tire, even the ATS-V suffers from overheating issues. Though they may have fixed that.

I live in South Florida, so every car gets a 160 thermostat and cooling fans that run all day long. As soon as you have these two mods, you can run all day long.

They have to put in penny pinching measures in order to sacrifice in reliability. Let's say Z07.

I don't know if that would fix the heat issues with the c7z. Your first gen CTS should be fine without those mods unless you have done some other motor work to it.
